REACH Regulation

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is the European Union regulation governing the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemical substances.

SCANCON Encoders A/S products are articles under the REACH Regulation and are not intended to release substances during normal and reasonably foreseeable conditions of use.
Based on information received from our suppliers, our products do not contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) included on the ECHA Candidate List above the threshold of 0.1% (w/w) per article. Therefore, no communication obligations under Article 33 of the REACH Regulation apply.
No registration under REACH is required for our products.

RoHS Directive

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) is the EU legislation that restricts the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (EEE). The maximum concentration values are 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials for most restricted substances and 0.01% for cadmium.

SCANCON Encoders complies with Directive 2011/65/EU, as amended, on the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment.

WEEE Directive

The WEEE Directive (2012/19/EU) aims to reduce waste from electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) by promoting reuse, recycling and environmentally sound treatment at end of life. The responsibility for WEEE compliance generally lies with the producer placing the product on the market in each country.

SCANCON Encoders A/S supplies encoders that are primarily intended for integration into industrial machinery and equipment. The applicability of WEEE obligations depends on the specific product and its intended use, in accordance with Directive 2012/19/EU and applicable national legislation.

Conflict Minerals Statement

SCANCON Encoders A/S is committed to responsible sourcing of minerals and works with suppliers to promote transparency throughout the supply chain.

Conflict Minerals

Conflict minerals refer to tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold (3TG), which may originate from conflict-affected and high-risk areas.

Due Diligence

SCANCON Encoders A/S supports the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas. We work with our suppliers to obtain relevant information regarding the origin of 3TG minerals used in our products.

Supplier Requirements

Suppliers are expected to support responsible sourcing practices and, upon request, provide information regarding the origin of 3TG minerals and their due diligence processes.

Compliance

SCANCON Encoders A/S supports compliance with applicable conflict minerals legislation, including Section 1502 of the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act where relevant, and other applicable responsible sourcing requirements.
