The new CAA1 encoder series has a functionallity called "Layer Setting Services".

The Layer Setting Service is an extension packet of the CANopen-Stack.
This packet provides functions to find not configured encoders or encoders with unknown configuration in a CANopen network.
This can be unequivocally done by:
- Vendor-ID
- Product code
- Serial number
- Revision number

The "Product Code" is a coded number, that allows to distinguish different CAN devices and is integrated in the EDS.
The code for single turn encoders differs from the code for multiturn encoder:
Singleturn (ST)	= 0x10196
Multiturn (MT)	= 0x20196
This leads to different EDS-files for singleturn and multiturn encoders.

If the type key of your encoder looks like this: SAG-CAA1B-001X-XXXX-XXX,
please use the EDS-file "SAG-CAA1-V01-01-ST.eds"
If the type key of your encoder looks like this: SAG-CAA1B-1X1X-XXXX-XXX,
please use the EDS-file "SAG-CAA1-V01-01-MT.eds"
X is a wildcard and has no relevance to distinguish singleturn and multiturn encoders.

Best regards.
